What are Powder Brows?

Powder Brows are a cosmetic semi-permanent make-up technique. Using a specialised machine, hundreds of tiny dots of pigment are placed under the skin. The effect is a soft yet full finish that looks like you’ve filled in your brows with powder.

Powder Brows are great for people who already have full brows but just want a little extra definition without the hassle of filling in the brows every day. It’s also the preferred technique for people with oily skin, as it typically lasts much longer than microblading.

How are Powder Brows done?

Mapping the brow outlines
We create custom tailored eyebrow design together. I carefully map your brows and create symmetry using measuring tools to establish the most flattering shape.

Choosing color
We will choose the color that will flatter your skin color and bring out the eyes, and of course, match your hair. I always do the smear test on my client’s skin to ensure that the chosen color matches skin undertones. After the procedure the color may appear bright, but after the brows are fully healed the color will be a shade or two lighter.

Procedure
We will apply an anesthetic right after the 1st pass and during the procedure to ensure you remain comfortable. Clients are usually pleased that pain is minimal. Topical anesthetics used may contain lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine and epinephrine. After the procedure, redness and slight swelling in the area is normal.

Healing Process
Since the procedure involves inserting tiny dots of pigment gradually into the skin, making sure there are no harsh edges but a soft and smooth shading effect, your brows will be a bit swollen and too dark immediately after the treatment. The healing process takes 4 – 6 weeks, during which you need to be extra careful about your brows.
  • Day 1 and 2
Your brows are too dark and they look like a block of pigment. Also, redness is present and they might be swollen. You might not be satisfied, but be prepared for this.
  • Day 3
The first thing you will notice is scabbing. After the ombre powder brows treatment, scabs fall off in one big or a few big pieces.
  • Day 4 – 10
This period is the most difficult to overcome, Scabs keep falling off, leaving your brows in patches. Your brows are itchy but under no circumstances should you scratch or touch them. Carry on with the aftercare routine and be patent.
  • Day 10 – 14
Your brows look too light and you must think that the whole process has been unsuccessful. Scabs are not that common anymore. The healing period is almost over.
  • Day 14 – 21
Your brows are coming back! They are taking their final shape and look much better. However, they might still look a little bit patchy and uneven.
  • Starting with day 21...
You are in love with your new brows =)

Your perfect Powder Brows

The results are similar to those you would achieve with makeup, with a flawless customized finish that lasts for months! Powdered brows give a soft, natural look, creating depth and adding colour to your brows.

How many sessions do I need?
Customers often have great healed results after one session with shading. I do offer a touch up after 6-8 weeks to ensure your brows are perfect and the color is even throughout the whole eyebrow or if for any reason you want to add more density to them.

How do I maintain my new brows?
Natural fading occurs from external factors such as exposure to the sun as well as internal factors such as the gradual break down of pigments as your body metabolizes it out of your system. Everyone can experience the fading process differently and it really comes down to skin type and lifestyle.
